Hochul announced yesterday she wants the vaccine mandated for school next year
I am not surprised as we knew it was coming but it makes even less sense now than it did originally as everyone is getting Covid now and kids still aren’t getting that sick.

I found it in the NY Post - she said it in an interview on MSNBC. DH had mentioned it so I searched. I told him I wasn’t surprised and he was like you are ok with this? I’m not but I am not surprised as it’s been hinted to all along.

I saw this. Please tell me how this make sense and why anyone would go along with this. We just went through this - college kids were mandated to be fully vaccinated to go to school - three months later they have outbreaks of almost 1000 students and have to actually shut down. Now many kids can’t come back without the booster. Insanity. What is the real motive here? Definitely not stopping the spread. Sadly the price is being paid by the children and teens. Three vaccines in six months or you can’t go to school. No one has studied the cumulative effect of three of these vaccines . These poor kids are the experiment. Parents going along with it when it’s NOT giving these kids any benefit to me is sick.

i agree with it. it's not about getting/not getting covid for me, it's about not dying from it. i got vaccinated in late january, booster by september, and I feel absolutely fine with this being my annual vaccine with my flu shot.
My child will also get this yearly if we have to. The reality is that if everyone gets it and gets boosters when necessary, the chance of these super spreader situations is much much lower. the death stats clearly show that those who are unvaccinated are far more likely to die from this, and if being vaccinated reduces that risk then I am all for it.

Honestly I think the death rate has gone down because they know how to handle this better now. They are not intubating people and having them die. You can’t tell how your body will handle getting the virus no matter if you are vaccinated or not. Another ploy to make people get vaccinated making them believe this.

So you're for FORCING children to be vaccinated.
When the risks of Covid in children are actually probably smaller than the risks of the vaccine itself?
You are ok with parents freedom of choice for their OWN children being taken away?
When the flu shot is not mandatory either.

As of now, children should not be mandated to take this vaccine. Down the line, maybe. Once it has been out for years and possibly changed so it is more effective as reducing the spread. I am all for vaccine mandates and am in full support of every single childhood vaccine mandate we have. This one is just different.

The chance of super spreader is not much lower as vaccinated folks are getting and spreading Covid. You are wrong. If vaccines were truly stopping the spread, NY state would not have tried to mandate masks for everyone.

Not surprised at all. I also will not be surprised when she starts trying to shut down everything again. That will not fly though.
The testing is up and the positives are up because everyone has to test now for every little thing. So even with no symptoms people are coming up positive. They need to show true numbers, how many showing symptoms, how many hospitalized vax versus non vax. That is what matters, not random testing numbers. I just saw a chart on Suffolk numbers about hospitalizations. Over 80% were unvaccinated. That is the numbers they need to be worried about. I am not advocating for vaccinations but choice. Let people know the true numbers and decide for themselves what to do. Those that are constantly scared can see their vax is keeping them out of the hospital and we can move on with our lives. I am over all this crap and the over reaching from the government. But let this new Governor keep going so we can get a republican in power in the next election.

This is what bugs me they skew the information to suit themselves. Weekly testing just increased this past fall with the option to Vax or test but you won't hear them say that. 2 people at my daughter job had sniffles they are fully vaxed and went to take a test anyway. 2 weeks off before Christmas whats better then that?
The city venues that only allowed fully vaxed people attend.....shut down again. That basketball player who refused to vax is being allowed to play (not in NYC) because all the other vaxed players are out. This shot has not proven itself and is not safe for my child!
Why do people still believe in this shot????

Does your view depend where you live? My friend who lives in Florida just posted a photo of her kids and their friends in school maskless at their school holiday celebration. That’s still a choice in Florida right now correct? Is COVID even in Florida anymore? I feel like here in NY it is such a hot debate with everything- judging people, mandates, discrimination for their choices. It’s too much, too stressful and keeps driving more and more restrictions.

Yup 2 hours yesterday for testing, 3 hours 2 weeks ago because everyone is running to test with no symptoms or ones that are not even Covid related.
Now reading 44 people on a cruise tested positive? Don’t get it when you test before and have to be vaccinated to cruise.
It all makes no sense.
