Highlightes and Sun & Chlorine...
I should know this. And common sense is telling me to stay out of the sun and pool....
But I'll ask anyway....
I'm getting highlights again on Saturday in the morning. If I'm out in the sun later that day, will it be bad for my hair?
Also, I'm assuming on day 1 of getting my highlights I should stay clear of the pool, right?

Re: Highlightes and Sun & Chlorine...
If you go in the sun, all it should do is make your highlights lighter.. thats up to you if you want that or not.
However i would NOT go in the pool that day. When you get highlights it opens up the hair shaft and therefore makes your hair more susceptible to being damaged. The chlorine could really damage your hair, possibly even turn it a different color if you go in so soon after having the highlights done.

My highlights are very light so I never get my hair wet when I'm in my pool, I wear a bandana when I go to the beach.

Thanks ladies.
I just needed confirmation, and a reminder how the chlorine will damage my hair!

Re: Highlightes and Sun & Chlorine...
My hairdresser tells me to not even wash my hair for 2 days after getting highlights, so I would say "no" to the pool.
