Highchairs
I'm trying to finish up my registry this week and I'm really debating between two highchairs. DH & I decided to register at BBB and BRU being that most of our guests will be from LI, NYC and NJ they should have access to both stores. I feel really bad registering for pricey items....I don't want people to think I'm grimy. My mom and sister insist however that I should register for everything that I want including the bugaboo because you never know. Now after doing some research I'm torn between two high chairs...one is the Chicco Polly available at BRU for $130 and the other is the Primma Pappa at BBB for $180. If I had my choice I would choose the Primma Pappa but I don't want people to look at my registry and be like OMG a $200 high chair and $800 stroller who does she think she is LOL. So which one would you register for?
ETA: Can't add the picture of the Primma Pappa but it's this one

Huge Peg Perego fan here. I take my highchair apart and bleach it down often. It's a quality highchair. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Highchairs
I don't know anything about these 2 highchairs, but I love the look of the Prima Pappa.
That said I know what you mean. I am so afraid people are going to look at my registry and think I am ridiculous or spoiled or something. Thus I am trying to be somewhat cost conscious, but my sister told me the same thing. She said people always have a choice if they want to buy it for you or not, which is true.

Re: Highchairs
I orginally registered for the Peg and then switched to the Polly bc the reviews in Baby Bargains were better.

Re: Highchairs
I registered for all the big items that I wanted, I did feel some were expensive but alot of people go in together to purchase the big items. I had also registered for small items that were less expensive. I don't think anyone will feel that your being greedy, most people know that these items aren't cheap and you want to register for ones that you know are quality and won't break in a couple of months. You will also want them to last so you could use them over if you have more children.
With all that said, I registered for the Prima Pappa because I heard only good things about it and I also loved the polka dot fabric. I ended up receiving it at my shower.

We went with Chicco Polly in green...it was my favorite and the Baby Bargains book gave it a great review.

Same with me. I read the Baby Bargains book about both of them and then went to BRU and had a rep show me all the features in person for both of them. I was really impressed with the Chicco high chair by far.
I felt that you are paying for the name with the other high chair and there were features it didn't have that Chicco has. Go with Chicco! I'm not a hater of the other one in fact I put down their model stroller. It's just a matter of quality to me and in the case of high chairs Chicco wins over the other IMO.

I have the Peg Perego and love it. Since you said that's the one you really want, register for it! You never know, people chip in and buy stuff together, so I doubt someone will think you are greedy.

Re: Highchairs
Thanks for all the advice ladies....what would I do without you girls!
We have decided to go with the Chicco Polly and also to stick with BRU only for a registry. We just went to the one on 14th Street/Union Square and they have absolutely everything so to keep it simple we will stick to BRU. Thanks again!

Re: Highchairs
We just bought Chicco Polly & love it! We looked at the Peg perego in BRU, but liked Polly better. The Peg didn't recline as far and we use that feature alot. It's one of the only ways DD naps. The Peg was softer though. That was a nice feature.

Re: Highchairs
I had a chicco polly and I recently sold it on Ebay. It was great for a younger baby, however it was murder to clean. I had to take the high chair apart literally every week and vacuum it out, clean it all with a sponge, take the straps off, run them through the washing machine. And frankly, it was a big hassle to look after. In the end, I sold it for £30 less than I paid for it and I bought a Babydan Chair and it is amazing, easy to clean, it comes up to the table, no tray, just clean the table, and my son is now more a part of the family. And thats my opinion.
