Hi ladies,

I am officially (kind of) TTC now and need guidance. Here's my story...

I had surgery in March to remove some fibroids and prior to the surgery, I was given a shot of lupron to shrink them. This caused temporary menopause and my period was supposed to come back in June. In June, we (my doctor & I) didn't wait for my period to come back naturally before jumping the gun and going on the pill. The pill did bring my period down. In August (which was my last pack) after my period came, I was supposed to go get a HSG. Well, my period never came. I have no clue why. So I went to the doctor today and now she wants to put me on provera. I am really against this because I never had issues with my period in the past and I think my body just needs to kinda rebalance itself by itself. I want to wait but also cannot afford to wait too long because fibroids grow back.

I am anxious to TTC and want to go ahead and start the process. Can I start charting and all without my period or do I have to wait for my period to come to start charting? Also, do you think it makes sense to take the provera to bring my period down versus watching it for like a month or so to see if it comes by itself?

I apologize if this doesn't make too much sense. Ask questions if you need clarification. I need all the help I can get to make sense of this.

Welcome! I think you need to wait for your period to really start charting. Good luck!

I am not a fan of messing with the natural cycle..I don't see why they gave you Lupron iof you were getting surgery anyway....

I would however take the Provera if you do want to TTC
