Hi, all. Kind of new here.

I'm sorry for the fake name, but I just need to be in hiding since I'm such a regular poster and don't know who lurks.
I'm just feeling bummed about TTC and needed to vent. This is only our second month trying, but I feel so overwhelmed by TTC that it's making me sad all the time.
When we got pregnant with our first child, we weren't even trying, it was nice little surprise, so I've never really TRIED for a baby, if that makes sense. So this is all new to me. My husband works wacky hours and some days we don't even get to see each other, let alone get a chance to try for a baby. It's just depressing me that our chances of conceiving are so diminished due to our schedules. Chat Icon Anyway, I just needed to vent about that. I'm also a total spazz at all this OPK stuff and what not, so I don't even know when I'm O-ing, I have a rough idea because my periods are regular, but still, I wish I could just accidentally end up pregnant like the first timeChat Icon Anyway, looking forward to chatting with you girls now that I took the plunge and created a fake name.
PS-I'm not hiding from you girls, just the unknown lurkers, you know?

well that's good since i already figured out who you are Chat Icon

lots of luck to you. i know how the hiding part stinks. BTDT!

with DS, i got pregnant on cycle 4 - which happened to be the first cycle when i actually knew i was Oing. before that i was BDing too late.

this time around, i used OPKs the first month and just assumed it would work the first time. it didn't and i was kind of upset.

i got pregnant on cycle # 2 and that was a shock b/c i didn't use OPKs and we only BD'd once before i *think* i O'd.

give it another couple of months. if you're still not pregnant we can all give you advice on OPKs and other things you can do.

also keep in mind that if you aim to BD every other day - or every third day if that's not possible - you'll up your chances every month.

good luck!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yeah, I'm pretty transparent if you know meChat Icon But that's fine!
The hubby doesn't want to chart and talk about OPKs and what not because he said it's "no fun" that wayChat Icon Whatever. I give him another two months, then I'm stepping up my game. Chat Icon
I wouldn't be nearly as upset if his schedule was normal, but like, for example, I saw him Sunday, then he worked Monday night and tonight, so I haven't seen him since Sunday, then I'll see him tomorrow, but not Friday, Saturday or Sunday. So, if I O when he's working, we're out of luck. It's SO frustrating. I told him to take vacation time next month during my fertile timesChat Icon Chat Icon That's assuming our efforts failed this monthChat Icon Anyway, thanks for the support!

Re: Hi, all. Kind of new here.

if you don't mind trying something easy and helpful, can i give you some advice? i am convinced it worked for me both times!!

and it's nothing you have to tell DH Chat Icon

buy plain mucinex, and take it (2 to 4 times a day, or whenever you remember) from about CD8 or 9 until you are sure you have O'd. this helps really thin out your cervical mucus, and make it as hospitable as possible for the sperm to live in. in optimal conditions (pH notwithstanding, i don't know how to change that at all) sperm can live from 2 to 5 days! i think that might help with your schedule.

Re: Hi, all. Kind of new here.

I could have written your post with the exception of the wacky schedules, but ESPECIALLY the part about just getting pregnant without trying. I would attempt a fake name except I know I couldn't keep it straight. Besides, I have such a big mouth I can't keep my own secrets anyway so I don't have to worry about lurkers. Chat Icon
