Re: hey wine drinkers....

In my experience, you can never go wrong with Pinot Noir. Try Lynmar Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. It's a little more than $25 (probably $30-35) but very good. Another good pinot noir is Estancia. Those are generally priced in the $16-18 range.

Re: hey wine drinkers....

I might be in the minority, but I hate most pinot noir. I think most are more of an acquired taste. I might have to try some of the ones suggested, though, b/c I've never tried those!

I think a good Chianti Classico is always a safe bet (unless people hate red wine) b/c it's smooth and easy to drink.

Sauvignon Blanc is another safe bet.

ETA: I actually dislike most reds except for Pinot Noir and Merlot (much to DH's dismay - he's like that guy in Sideways when it comes to Merlot). My issue with most reds is that they aren't smooth enough, so I'll have to try some more Chianti.

Clearly YOU are insane. I LOVE reds, with the exception of most pinot noirs and most merlots. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Oh who am I kidding? I'll drink just about any wine that tastes good to me... and a lot of wines that don't! Chat Icon

Try Ruffino Chianti Classico - very easy red to drink.

I'm thinking we are opposites. You are a blondeJD, I'm a brunetteJD. You are in corporate law. I am in litigation. You like Pinot Noir. I like better wine. Chat Icon

Re: hey wine drinkers....

Sterling Cabernet
Rock Rabbit Syrah
Chataeuneuf du pape
Sequioa Grove cab

all around $25. The syrah may be less.

The Sequoia Grove cab is by far my favorite followed closely by the Chataeuneuf du pape

And our love for the horses Chat Icon

But not to get too off topic, and since *some people* want to talk smack about my pinot noir, here are some white options. I like these because they're very oaky - La Crema Chardonnay (around $25) and Franciscan Oakville Chardonnary ($15-18).
