Hershey zoo? Hershey Experience? Something else near DW to do?

Hershey zoo? Hershey Experience? Something else near DW to do?
We're heading to Dutch Wonderland's "Happy Hauntings" on 10/25 and staying for two nights at Eden. We have no plans on that Monday and I'm trying to figure out something to do that isn't crazy expensive.
We get a discounted rate at the Hershey Zoo with our home zoo membership but I can't say I'm wowed by it from their website, has anyone ever been?
Is there enough free stuff at the Hershey Experience place that would be worth the trip from Lancaster?
Maybe there is something in Lancaster I'm missing (DH has axed the Turkey Hill experience). It seems like a lot of stuff is closed Mondays in October.
DS is 2.5 and DD is 5 if that helps.

Zoo is boring at Hershey. I would not trek from Lancaster to Hershey unless you are going to Hershey Park itself. You can do other things in Lancaster. Amish tours, Hands on House, Lancaster Science Factory, Pretzel Factory, Strasburg Railroad, etc.

Hershey Zoo is only worth it if you're going to get away from the park for an hour IMO. The only free thing at the Hershey Experience is the "ride" where you learn about Hershey chocolate. Cute but not worth it if that's all you're going to do.
Check out Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. We've been twice in the summer and I always think it'd be great in the fall. Not free though.

My kids liked the Hershey Zoo but they love animals. We went for like an hour. I had very low expectations and my kids had a good time.
