Help with storage & staging

Allright everone I need some help/ideas on ways to store some of our stuff and stage our home. We are putting our house on the market next month and want to DE clutter it some what... Any ideas??
I keep going into each room looking for things to get ride of but I feel like either I or my daughter still use it all .. I don't want to just stuff it in the closets since I know when I was looking at homes I always looked in there haha :(

If your comfortable with it you can put stuff in the trunk of your car or basement. I think as long as everything is neat and tidy and not spilling out all over the place you should be fine.

Help with storage & staging

attic?

When we sold, we packed up things that we didn't need and stored them at MIL's house in DH's old bedroom. We wound up storing 20-30 boxes and got rid of so much clutter! Is that an option?

Thanks guys I'm going to go n get some boxes and start packing some stuff up while dd is asleep haha n try to bring some to my parents and some to my inlaws so it's not to much for them . I may even keep one or two totes at my house and when someone comes to view the home I will throw whatever clutter I have at the time in there n put it in the car lol

Your tote bag idea is actually a very good one, and one that I advise clients with small kids and a lot of toys around to use!

I agree that you should just start packing up a lot of stuff now. Less is more, even when it comes to useful things like kitchen counter appliances. Err on the side of keeping things very minimalistic... homes typically show better this way. So if you can start packing and store stuff (neatly in boxes) in your attic, basement, garage, or better yet, offsite at a family members' house, that's what I would recommend. Some people with a lot of stuff even get a POD or something, but they can be an eyesore in front of the house.

Even getting some fabric bins or something that you can throw all of your DD's stuff into and then stack it neatly in a corner (or under a coffee table), or an under bed storage container, as someone suggested, would work. If everything is contained and neat (even if the contents of the containers are a jumble), you are good to go.

Just don't stuff everything into closets. People love to open closets and want to see ample closet space. So if it's a jumbled mess and busting out all over, it will be a turn off. If anything, thin out your closets as much as possible to give the maximize the impression of space.

Good luck!
