Help with clothes for an interview
In June I was excessed from my school psych position by the lovely, wonderful, BOE. I technically still have a job I just don't know where.
Well, on my own I got an interview with a principal for a sabbatical position in a school down the block from my house.
What do you think I should wear? My only suit is a black, wintery pantsuit. I have a nice skirt and blouse and was thinking of wearing that with some pumps. Do you think that's okay given that technically I am employeed and it is summer time.
It's so stupid that I have to interview when I already have a job. I hate the BOE.

I personally think the skirt and blouse would be approproate. It is still summer and being that you are already employed you should be fine! Good luck!

Re: Help with clothes for an interview
I would suck it up and wear the pantsuit. I personally don't feel that anything less than a suit is appropriate for an interview - esp in a school.

I agree, but do you happen to have a short jacket that might match the skirt? that would work too....

I do have a jacket to wear with the skirt...that's what I will do. The pantsuit is just too wintery...I'll look like I forgot it was August.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Help with clothes for an interview
I wore a pretty, knee-length wrap dress on the interview that got me my current teaching job. I think that as long as you look "dressed up," you'll be fine. Especially because it's the summer. IMO a suit isn't necessary because this is not the business world.
GOOD LUCK! Sorry about your situation. Stupid BOE; I know them well.
