Help UPS tracking question (nobody in customer care today, maybe you can help?)

Help UPS tracking question (nobody in customer care today, maybe you can help?)
I went online and saw that my shipment is in transit here is a summary
INDIANAPOLIS, IN, US 09/11/2009 11:28 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
09/11/2009 10:51 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
09/11/2009 10:20 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
09/11/2009 7:28 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
The page still doesn't show if I will be getting it today. I'm going to a party this afternoon and its not something I want left outdoors for too long. I'm not too familiar with how UPS works does the above info mean I will get it today? To me it showing that it is still in Indianaplis right? I don't know what orign scan means...can anyone explain?

Departure scan means it has left the Indianapolis location headed for the local delivery facility. I would not expect that you would get it today. UPS does not routinely deliver on Saturday, that's an additional service and charge. Also, it would have an arrival scan when it arrives at the delivery facility (ie: Farmingville if you're in Suffolk) and it would say "Out for Delivery" or something like that once it's been put on a truck making the deliveries for the day.

origin scan means it was scanned at the place it was shipping out of...it seems like its ground shipping so it then went to Indianapolis..got scanned there yesterday.
If its coming to LI, then its probably monday b/c UPS doesnt deliver saturday's unless its specifically sent as saturday delivery.
FM the tracking #, i can check it out for you.

if it says "Out for Delivery" you can expect it today. Otherwise, I believe it is still in transit.

Correct UPS no Saturday... If it were FedEX then it would be delivered today by FedEX home delivery.
