HELP NEEDED! Transitioning from bassinet to crib
Hi Ladies! Ollie is 6 months old now (4 months corrected) and I figured it would be a good time to move him out of our bedroom and into his nursery. He's been sleeping through the night (9 or 10PM until 7 or 8AM) for the past two months. Last night was horrible. He woke up at 1:15AM (I didn't hear him and my husband got up and fed him). He woke up again at 4:30AM and I went in and kept the lights off and told him it was ok and he fell back asleep. Same thing at 5:30 and 6AM. When I got up at 8:30 he was awake and happy and playing with his feet. I got almost no sleep because I was constantly listening and looking at the monitor. Is this normal for the first night? Do you it'll continue? My husband normally works overnights and I'm off on Tuesdays so being a little sleep deprived today isn't a huge deal but if it continues I'd be exhausted. I heard a little about CIO but I think that's more to get him to go to sleep? Do you follow the same method in the middle of the night if he wakes up? Any and all advice welcome and appreciated

Re: HELP NEEDED! Transitioning from bassinet to crib
If he's not crying or upset I wouldn't go in there, you said he's been sleeping through the night so he should be fine without either you of you going in there. You'll get used to the monitor, in the beginning I was paranoid and watching it, you'll get used to it and sleep just fine soon enough, don't worry believe me you'll wake up if he's making noise/crying.
eta: DS wakes up and goes back to sleep on his own many times/night, sometimes he just stares in the darkness (I know little creepy but he's fine) and plays with something in the crib, its totally ok & normal. If he needs you he'll definitely let you know

Re: HELP NEEDED! Transitioning from bassinet to crib
The earlier you do it, the easier it is! TRUST ME! LOL
If he is not crying do not go in.
I don't know if you are comfortable doing this, but I always let DD cry for exactly five minutes before going to get her. I would say 75% of the time she would just fall back asleep on her own! Sometimes, she would be crying in her sleep and *I* would wake her up by going to check on her!
Good Luck!

I agree. With my DD, we got her used to the crib by having her take naps in there during the day, so she could take in the surroundings in daylight.

I guess I should clarify. He was crying each time he woke up.
