HELP!!! Need Dress for Wedding
I am the maid of honor in a friends wedding in a little over a week.. i will be 37 weeks the day of the wedding so i waited to find a dress not knowing how big i was going to be, didn't want to buy something too early & have it not fit. Now i cant find anythinggggggg. I went to David's Bridal and found one i wasn't too crazy about.. so i want to keep looking.
I am limited to a color so i think that is what is making my search so hard. Dress just has to be long & purple & i would prefer not to spend a ton of money on a dress i will only be wearing once
besides David's Bridal, Estelles, Macy's & Destination Maternity. Can you suggest any stores on LI or the 5 Boroughs that would have a large dress selection so maybe i can find something. i am desperate LOL

ETA: i'd prefer going to an actual store over shopping online

I dont know if you want to try but ASOS.com has adorable maternity dresses and they have free return shipping, you might need to pay a little extra for expedited shipping since your event is a little over a week away.

i tried them.. i struck out when trying to find something purple.. once i sorted it by color there were only like 6 dresses to choose from

This website has some that fit your (very specific) criteria: http://www.trendytummymaternity.com/maternity-dresses.html but google around and you'll see some more.
You might even want to try posting on Craig's list or on a FB parenting group asking if anyone has one you can borrow locally since you have such a short timeline. Try the parenting board on here too. Maybe someone has one that would be perfect?

thank you for your suggestions ladies.. i have been looking online but am scared it wont fit right in person and will be too last minute to go out and find something so i would rather go to a physical store to try things on
Any store suggestions??

Go to yellowpages.com and search for maternity clothes around where you live. A lot of stores come up. I would call some of them to see if they sell formal maternity dresses and if they have anything in the purple you're looking for!

While I wish I had a suggestion as to where to find a dress, I have another suggestion. Find a dress in the color that "fits", then take it to a seamstress to alter it to make the dress fit you.
I dunno if that helps, but it's an alternative.
