Help me with a mop

I live in a 2 bedroom coop so the only two rooms that require moping are the kitchen (large eat in) and the bathroom (small). However, I hate mopping. I have a toddler and two cats (and a DH ). Between the cat hair, my hair, the drips and spills that DH never cleans up promptly, the cat food mess they make (and I have a food mat under there too), I am at my wits end. I have the swiffer but I first need to sweep...so I use the dusting cloths, then I have to use the dust pan to pick up the leftover, then I have to use the wet pats but they only do so much. I feel like I am going to break my arm or the swiffer itself scrubbing the stuck on spots (ex. sauce, juice, coffee). The only I do like about the swiffer is that it is broom sized and fits in the laundry closet (there are not many places I can store something). I get so annoyed with the swiffer that 7 out of 10 times I wind up just bringing out the sponge head mop (which is alway popping out and falling off) and washing the floors with pinesol (but I have cats that are facinated with wet floors and mopping ) and then DS cries because he wants to go in there....gosh...do I need to go on? I would consider the shark but the reviews are horrible and it appears I still have to sweep the floor anyway. I guess I want something quick and easy and efficient too! Thanks!

what kind of floor is it?

I vaccuum first (I have a hard floor attachment, most vaccuums have a hard floor setting or something like that) Its a narrow brush that wide, anyway do this first than I either steam mop or use the orange glo (like the swiffer) but it treates the wood floors. Not sure what kind of flooring you have?

kitchen is just plain old linoleum and the bathroom is tile
