Help me pick a kitchen island!
Our kitchen is currently all white with a red backsplash and a huge stainless steel sink. We literally don't have a counter - just the huge stainless sink/drainboard and white stove and white dishwasher.
So, which island do we go for? DH is in love with the idea of a white-black-red / stainless steel kitchen but I'm not 100% and would like some opinions.
Salt and pepper granite top:
Same island, with black granite top:
Smaller, more expensive Crate & Barrel island with butcher block top and fold-out leaf:
Here's our kitchen. Island will go opposite the window, where I'm standing to take the pic:

Saw the brand "Home Styles" on sale on Amazon.com, Wal-Mart.com, etc. and they always got great reviews. So I went straight to the HomeStyles web site and found all these:

Thanks for the input! There is no tax and free shipping until Monday, so I have to decide soon!

Hey Dava! i have a question... do you think that the depth of these islands is deep enough? i would think they are little slim. i am only throwing it out there b/c i see that the cutting board on one of those pics is catty cornered, so it makes me think you can't even fit a cutting board on it???

I like the black the best, but think #1 would look better in your kitchen since the one piece of countertop you have on the right by the window looks like butcher block, the brown will fit in nice there

It's actually 19" deep. The thing is huge! It will take up the whole brick wall/back of chimney in the kitchen.

or the C&B (b/c it looks like you have other wood tops in the space)
i would swap out the hardware on either set to dark to match what you have...

We're still so torn. I think I like the black granite top one best, but the salt-and-pepper granite is the safer choice. It's a really big piece, and will be right in front of the front door when you walk in. I'm a little afraid of the boldness of stark white, black and red.
...but I wish I had the guts to do it.

love #2 and you can always tone down the red if you think it's too much accent color. be careful with the fold up leaves if you go that route. ours were very unsturdy and i wouldn't recommend!
