help me figure out DS- sleep related

ok so ds is 6 weeks old and im dying for more than 2 hours of sleep at a time. ds wakes every 3 hours like clockwork at night.
i was at my parents house last night. fed him at 8. he hung out until 10 and then i put him in the infant seat and drove home adn he fell asleep. instead of waking him i put his seat next to my bed and figured i'd feed him when he woke up and tehn put him to bed. well he slept til 1! he went 5 hours between feedings for the first time. once he was back in his crib he woke every 3 hours again.

is he really hungry every 3 hours wehn he wakes up or is he just used to waking up every 3 hours? why did he sleep so long in the carseat? could he be cold at night and was so cozy in the seat taht he slept longer. how can i get him to slee taht long again tongiht?

A lot of babies like to be snug. That could be why he slept so long. Do you swaddle or have you tried it recently? Or do you have a sleep positioner?

He doesn't have reflux at all right?

at 5-6 weeks, dd started giving us one longer stretch on her own at night. was 4-5 hours at first and now we're approaching 8. outside of this longer stretch, dd goes 2 1/2 - 3 hours. she did this on her own so your ds could be doing this too. we swaddle religiously also. hth.
