Help me ease baby's discomfort from his cough
My poor DS (7 months) has such a bad cough though you'd never know it because he's still all smiles all the time  But I feel so bad for him because the cough sounds terrible and must really hurt his chest. Anyone have any home remedies or something that they can share to ease baby's discomfort?

i wish i knew. Ian's had a congestive cough for a few days now. and hes coughing in his sleep. im taking him to the ped today.

Awwww poor Ian. I hope he feels better soon I'm taking Shaun to the Dr too. I hope they can give him something. i just feel so bad b/c they cant tell you where or how much it hurts.

we just went through this with jack - he had a cough for 4-5 weeks!
humidifier and vicks seemed to help a little.
i also sat him in the bathroom with steam for 15 mins before his bath everynight - i think it helped to loosen his cough.
if you can elevate his head in the crib (elevate the mattress) that should help too!
also, tylenol before bed to help any discomfort in his throat and chest from the cough!
feel better little man!

DS is the same. He has been for a few days. Dr. says its pretty much from teething though. 2 nights ago I actually just put him in bed with us and kept him sitting up and it helped a lot since his coughing is worse at night. We ha the mattress elevated but that just wasnt doing the trick.

ETA: we did steam as well (like karin said) DS also has a runny nose so the steam helped loosen that up

We're in the same boat over here. I've just been using the humidifier to keep things loose.
