Re: Help me Choose!

I should add that all 3 have the basically the same features.

-Auto Start
-Power Liftgate
-Heated Seats
-AWD
-2nd Row Captain's Chairs

The Traverse & Acadia are the closest in price and the Explorer is $30 more per month. This isn't really a factor though.

Re: Help me Choose!

Not sure about the others, but my SIL leased out a Ford Explorer and had nothing but issues with it.
And it wasn't the first time I heard of a lot of problems with them.
I'd avoid that one.

I just went from an acadia to a 2018 explorer. Looks wise I like my explorer sooo much better. Functionally though, I liked my acadia better.

ETA: when I say functionality, I mean the setup of radio/nav etc.

Funny I went from a 2015 Acadia Denali to a 2018 traverse.

Love the traverse more than the Acadia. Technology is great. Space is great. It’s bigger than the old Acadia style and way bigger than the new Acadia style.

Re: Help me Choose!

Acadia hands down!

I have a 2016 traverse and hate it...terrible gas mileage, not a smooth ride, slow acceleration, and the layout is just not at all driver friendly (no where to put a phone etc) - although they may have changed that in the 2018

The Acadia is a step up from the traverse and less crossover loooking (more of an suv look)

I used to drive an explorer and loved it, but decided to go traverse bc i didnt like that the third row was really only a 2 seater and not a 3 seater. I would go explorer as second choice

I used to love the look of the Acadia, but not a big fan of the new design. And never used to like the look of the Traverse, but now they made it look so much better. And I've always like the Explorer, but have heard some not so great things about it's reliability

Arent the Acadia and Traverse built off the exact same platform? Not sure why they would be the same price when GMC is supposed to be a step up from Chevy. What prices are you getting quoted?

Not anymore. They were the last few years. The 2018 Acadia is much smaller and the 2018 is bigger than previous models. They’re nothing alike anymore.

This is true. I recently went and test drove the new Acadia, the new Traverse, the new Terrain, and the new Equinox. OP,if you haven't yet, definitely go sit in each. The Traverse feels like a BUS to me. It's HUGE. The Acadia is smaller than the older model, but not by all that much. Personally though, they say the GMC is a "step up" from Chevy but Chevy has really upped their game recently and most of their models now come with the same bells and whistles as the GMC's.

I have a 2017 Explorer. I like it for the most part. The nav sucks and some of the controls are in weird places. It’s also terrible on gas but all of those trucks probably are. I hate hate hate the power lift gate. It never opens for me and I’m standing there like an a$$ waiting.

If I had to pick I’d probably go with the Acadia.

I did the same as you and test drove all of them. I thought the Traverse and Acadia were comparable. I did not like the Equinox. did like the Terrain but its priced not that much lower than the Acadia.

Did you end up buying the Acadia?

I took the 3rd row measurements of the Acadia, Explorer and Traverse and the the Traverse was bigger than all but the Acadia wasn't far behind. The Explorer was smaller in the measurements that matter most.

I ended up getting the Equinox but only because we already have an Acadia that my DH drives and we didn't need another SUV of that size (I wanted something smaller). But my DH loves his Acadia!

What did you end up choosing??
