Help! I need a good excuse
This weekend is my sister's bachelorette party. We are going onto the city in a limo and going out to a mexican restaurant and then out after. In two weeks it is her wedding.
Normally I would happily have several adult beverages, so this may cause some questions that I don't know how to answer. I just got my BFP 3 days ago, so I won't be sharing the real reason I am not drinking.
What were some excuses you girls used when faced with the whole not drinking alcoholic drinks issue?

Re: Help! I need a good excuse
I have always had a bad tummy-ulcers, IBS, acid reflux, so when I didn't want to drink and not hear comments I told people my stomach can't handle alchohol tonight.
OR I used to drink cranberry juice with seltzer

Allergy Meds Antibiotics Headache (but that can put a damper on the whole night) Hungover from the night before.
Fake it - try to discretely order plain seltzer or juice and have them dress it up like a drink.

Re: Help! I need a good excuse
One friend knew we were trying but I wasn't ready to tell her so I said I had testing in the morning and had to fast.
You could say you’re trying and sub-staining from alcohol during your 2ww.
You could try the antibiotics or new medication route but no one ever believes that.
Chances are they will suspect it regardless.
You could try to order a fake drink. My friend used to order an O'Dules & have them put it in a glass.

Re: Help! I need a good excuse
I had a bach party before I was ready to tell people too. I blamed my stomach. Said it was bothering me all day, so I had to take it easy. There was a moment where I had to take a piece of jello shot for a game, and I just discreetly slipped out of the room, and dumped it. lol No one noticed.

Re: Help! I need a good excuse
I would fake it. I ordered a non alcoholic beer while out with friends the first few weeks and just had the bar tender put it in a regular glass.

Yep!!! And I love cranberry juice mixed with sprite. You can dress it up in a martini glass with fruit on the side! Slip the bartender extra money to do it!

Re: Help! I need a good excuse
Just order virgin drinks...go up to the bar alone and order them....come back and sip them slowly, then play it up.

I would try to fake it - cranberry and seltzer with a lime looks just like a regular drink

Re: Help! I need a good excuse
i have used the anti biotics reason also, but you need to make sure you have a convincing story about what you are sick with. that's the part you need to make believable.
