help decorate our playroom
here are 2 pics of out playroom....not great ones but you can get the idea. so all the walls are built in storage. its great for storage but not great because i have no wall space to put the kids big toys.
anyway....i want some type of wall art in there. any suggestions on the slanted ceilings??

standing at the window looking out....there is a big bookshelf under those built in shelves right now

If anything, I would probably create some homemade artwork - or decals. I think something hanging on the walls might be odd since its slanted. You can draw and then paint a design/mural or do the decals.
What other furniture/rugs/theme do you have in the room? Or is it all toys? Tough to help with accent pieces because we can't see the bigger things.

I am thinking of getting decals for the walls.....but will they look silly on the slant?
The only real things in there are the big book shelf under the built in shelves and then toys! There are 2 toy boxes along the wall. There is no real theme other than a mess of toys! LOL
I will try to get a pic this weekend of they way it looks now.

I have had slanted walls all my life and have tried many things with them. I think leaving them white is best.

i like the decals and used them in our playroom. i'd put them on your doors and not on the slant. check out roommates peel and stick and wallies. if you can, get them at AC Moore with a coupon, though they don't have tons of styles.

i never thought to put them on the doors! i might do that. i think anything on the slants is going to look funny

I would do a mural or decals on the slopped ceiling. I just posted our playroom redo recently. While mine is "bolder" in color you do get the concept.

i would get onto etsy and check out all the decals and themes they have. you could probably get a vendor to do an entire set for you- decals, baskets, door knobs, lamps, etc. and take it from there. i love how much storage you have in that room! you could place some larger pieces on the higher shelf on that bookcase (since it would prob be hard to reach anyway to get down books) of objects that go with the theme, like big stuffed animals, ceramic or carved wood pieces, sailboats, etc. to tie the theme together too!
enjoy- that looks like an awesome room to decorate!

What a fun space for a playroom. Decals are a great idea, but if you want to add incredible drama and pop, this room will look amazing if you continue that brick red color all the way through the angles. I just painted my son's ceiling navy blue and the walls are golden yellow (he has navy blue dresser cabinets). The navy blue ceiling is spectacular. Then we put spiderman/superman decals on the yellow walls. My daughters have a clubhouse in an attic space that looks similar to your playroom. We made our angle ceiling hot pink and the bottom half wall is bright orange. It is so fabulous and fun for them. Color can really transform a space. The good news is that paint isn't permanent :)
I did a quick mockup of your room with the colored ceiling in photoshop so you can get an idea.

I want to do something like that!! DH is against anymore painting right now! LOL but those colors were there when we moved it. so now that room looks like toys r us exploded in it!
i have photo albums on the bottom shelf, a few stuffed animals on the top and just ordered decals....one says "messes accompany the best memories" and the other is PLAY in big letters. not sure where i will put them yet....have to clean up in there first!
