Help! Confused about baptism planning

I converted to be Catholic when we got married so I'm not sure about how this stuff goes down...and DH is NOT a planner and I am So...

I scheduled my DD's baptism in May, on a Sunday but they can't do it until like 2pm...which seems like a weird time?

So how long does it last? And should I do like an early dinner after, I was thinking at a room in a restaurant? Get a cake? Send out invites? Definitely family, but not sure how many friends...like how many people do you invite to this?

Our DS's baptism was at 1pm so we planned for a 2:30 start because the Church said the ceremony could be anywhere from 45 mins-1 hr.

The cake was provided by the restaurant, we definitely sent out invites, and we had about 60 ppl.

eta: our ceremony took that long cause there were 4 other babies getting baptized too. so take that into account also.

mine was a 1 pm! that is around the time everyone's Ive been to has been! They plan it after all the masses for the day and before the 5 pm mass if there is one!

we had about 80-90 people (family and close friends-we have a big Irish catholic family) so we sent out invites about 1+ month in advance! I had my DDs and my DSs back at my house and I put 3 pm so I allowed 2 hrs and it was a perfect amt of time to head back and set up my sternos and stuff before the bulk of the people got there..esp if people didnt come to the church at least they had a time on when to arrive! We got a cake that said "God Bless (first & Middle name) from BJs or Costco! We have the food like an 1-1.5 hrs after the start of the party and that is already 430 which isnt that early for dinner and cake around 6ish!

If you want a private room, I would look around ASAP b/c Sundays in May are booked due to communions.

My DS's baptism is on a Sat. @ 12pm b/c its a private one (just us). The party is from 1-5pm at a restaurant. We are inviting family and close friends - 100. DH's family is HUGE. We are sending the invites out March 1st and asked for RSVPs by April 1st. We have a cake thru the restaurant that reads "God Bless FIRST & MIDDLE name". We also have a DJ and a child's entertain/magician/face painter for all the kids. We are doing cookies and chocolate lollipops for favors (possibly chocolate topped rice krispy treats too... haven't decided).

Ours is in May also. Church is at 12 and party is at 1P. The church and restaurant are literally around the block from each other. We booked this over a month ago. If you are having it at a restaurant or hall book ASAP. May is peak communion/confirmation/shower time!!!!

The party is for 4 hours.

You can invite as many or as little people as you want.

Is it stupid to keep it really small? She'll be 10mos old then and I want to have a bigger party for when she turns 1.

Ds's baptism was lasy July and it started at 12. It did not last too long. We were out of the church before 1.
We planned restaurant for 2 pm We had fmaily and very close friends (about 30 people) We brought the cake with us. The Favors were home made rosary beads.

You can definately keep it small. I ended up keeping his 1st birthday party small since I had around 60m people to his Christening.

I booked a room at a restaurant in Astoria about 2 months in advance and sent the invites out 5 weeks in advance. I got balloons at Party City as centerpieces and ice scream scoops as favors. We brought CDs over to play.

It was pretty easy. I got those pre-made invites you can get anywhere and just wrote them out.
