Help! Completely overwhelmed with feeding

I am so stressed out about what types of foods I should be feeding DD. I know it sounds silly, but I feel I am missing something. Maybe because she is on the short side and I feel it's my fault. She will be 7 months next week. On a good day she will have 3 meals a day with a combination of all of the Gerber Stage 2 and a cereal. She will only take about 18 oz of formula a day. Is there any non-baby food items i should or could give her? Should i be giving her apple juice? Thank you for any guidance you can give.

IMO, avoid juices if possible... tons of sugar in them......

there are books that outline the order that you can introduce foods.... I wouldn't worry too much about nutrition right now since she's having a lot of formula still, and that is nutritionally complete on its own.

It also doesn't hurt to ask your ped at the next visit either.....

I wouldn't give juice that early - my son is 17.5 months and gets juice only on rare occassions.

As for food - you can introduce Pastina at that age. Do you give her puffs? cheerios? You can start those if you haven't! Chat Icon

Puffs or cheerios are good start.

DS is almost 18 months and does not drink juice.

Thank you for the replies. I have read book sections on what to feed and when, but nothing makes more sense to me than to hear from actual mothers what they feed their DC. So, thank you. I feel better knowing I am not that far off. I dont know anyone with kids!

I think your doing just fine. When does she go back to the Ped? Ask them for more suggestions maybe?
