Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My son seems to only stop crying in between feedings with a pacifier. He was born at a little over 34 weeks so he is a premie and was in the NICU for a week. Where they were prone to giving him one to sooth him. He is only 2 weeks old but I feel he is dependant on it....what should I do?

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's only 2 weeks old? Let him have his pacifier! I think it's too soon to be concerned about a pacifier habit, unless you are that much against giving him one. Babies need to suck. It soothes them.
That's my opinion, I would give it him. I don't see a problem.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worry about dependence in a year or so, let him have the pacifier and don't worry about it!

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At 2 wks old let him have it - I agree. They need to self sooth and a lot of kids use the pacifier, there is nothing wrong with it at 2wks.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They gave Taylor a pacifier in the hospital without my permission. I was so mad. She used it for three months and decided she didn't want it anymore and hasn't used it since...
She found her thumb and liked that better.
I really wouldn't worry about it. It is how they soothe themselves and that is a good thing!!!!!!!!!!!
Some kids give it up with no problem at all.
