Hello again and Q about wisdom tooth
Hi all,
I just wanted to reintroduce myself to the pregnancy board. I started on LIF about 3 years ago to get all the answers I ever wanted (and them some) when I was pregnant with my DS and wasn't telling anyone yet. Well, I got my BFP on baby #2 this past weekend so I'm excited to chit chat again. I am very early, 5-6 weeks depending on which calculator I use.
Here's my question... I only have 1 wisdom tooth left and it had been right under the surface for years now. This weekend I had some bad mouth pain and thought my gum was infected. I know gum problems are common. I took a mirror and saw my wisdom tooth had shot through the skin and was fully exposed about a quarter inch and crooked, scrapping up my cheek. I listerined like crazy and the swelling is down and it seems ok. From the googling I did I found others that had the same problem b/c of the growth hormones going wild but most of those women had to have their teeth taken out.
Has anyone had their wisdom teeth come in, left them alone and been fine? So far it's not pushing any others. I think if I left it, I'd be ok.

Hello again and Q about wisdom tooth
Crashing - about 11 years ago I finally had my wisdom teeth pulled (all 4 at once). They had already been in for a few years and they didn't want to pull because they weren't impacted or infected or causing anything but a little pain here and there when they first came in. The only reason I had them pulled in the end was because after 2-3 years of having them they were finally starting to crowd the rest of my teeth. I think that as long as there is no infection, there is no reason why the tooth can't stay in.

Re: Hello again and Q about wisdom tooth
I had an infected wisdom tooth pulled early this pregnancy. I had been on antibiotics for a couple of weeks and they weren't helping. I had it done with only novocaine and it wasn't bad at all. It might be more benficial to just have it extracted, especially since your gums tend t get more inflamed as you go along.
