Hello

Hi! I am new to LIF but I was a shy member of LIW for a couple of years. DH and I are newbies to TTC. I just recently started prenatal vitamins and for the life of me I can not understand why they are not covered by my insuranceChat Icon Chat Icon Does anyone know if there is a huge difference between prescription ones and Over-the counter ones? The ingredients are just about the same, except a little less iron in OTC. Anyone ever take OTC instead?

Re: Hello

same thing as maybeamommy said - most of us gals are on OTC ones.

I have a VERY sensitive stomach and i take the Target ones every night with dinner and have had no problems at all!

They are relatively cheap (for a huge bottle, less than $15.00).

welcome to the boards! hope your stay is short & sweet!

Re: Hello

The RX ones have the DHA in it. I think that might be the big difference between RX and OTC. On my old insurance it was $50 per month plus $10 per month for the Folic Acid I needed (Its high dose), but i recently have new insurance and it is about $30 per month for everything, so it is much better to deal with!

I take the Target brand prenatals and they aren't that expensive. I did see another brand of OTC prenatals that had DHA but I heard so many positive reviews of the Target ones, that I decided to buy these for now. Chat Icon Chat Icon
