Health Benefits question
How much additional salary would you ask for per year if you were declining medical benefits. It's for single, not family.

Re: Health Benefits question
I have been in that situation many times (because I am on DH's insurance) and never have I gotten a salary bump because of it. Frankly, most companies don't care. The salary is the salary- and it's commiserate with your experience, the level of the job, etc, and whether or not you take their benefits is of no concern to them. (not that it's right, but that's how it is)
The place I work now is the first company that actually gives you something for not taking their health benefits. I get a whopping $50 per check as a medical waiver So $100 a month.
But it's better than I got in most previous companies- which was ZIP
I was actually shocked when they told me about it since I never heard of getting anything for not taking the benefits

Health Benefits question
I have never seen a company give money either and any I have heard of it is very minimal.
A company will look at it as you have the opportunity to switch to their benefits so what are they going to do then cut your salary.

that seems reasonable
I have not heard of any companies doing that though...and makes me annoyed that we never thought of that when DH and i went onto my benefits cant hurt to ask i guess

Re: Health Benefits question
In a previous position I held, the company offered an additional 2k if benefits were declined.

Health Benefits question
Some do, usually it is NOT equal to what they would be spending on the monthly premium, but it's something. Most will not do that any more though.
