He used to be a good eater...
and he is soooo picky! Jacob is 20 months and eats a whole lot less than he used to. He used to eat anything that I gave him and a lot of it. Now he will only eat certain things and a little at a time. Is this normal for kids this age? Its driving me crazy and of course I worry that he is not eating enough. His weight and height are average for his age and I give him multivitamins everyday. He is also drinking enough water, juice and milk. Maybe he is just asserting his independence

Totally going through the same thing. It started around 20 mos and DS just turned 2 and its is still that way. One day he will eat an entire ear of corn, the next day he wont even touch it, somedays he will eat nothing all day except maybe some fruit, then he will eat an adult size meal for dinner. Its very stressful, but I just try to go with it.

Re: He used to be a good eater...
Welcome to my world!! Nikolas is 21 months and we've been going through this for awhile now.
I swear I don't know how my kid isn't skin and bones with how LITTLE he eats. And there is absolutely NO variety to his food -- he eats the same 4-5 things over and over and REFUSES to even TRY anything new. I can't even get him to eat fruit anymore and veggies, forget about it It stresses me out to NO end
But still despite his picky eating habits, he is still a really big boy - not underweight at all, is tall, keeps growing. I swear I don't know how

Re: He used to be a good eater...
Matty is 20 months and we have been dealing with this for a while. He will not eat anything with any texture- still on baby jar fruit and will only eat mushy vegetables. His weight dropped- he is in the 75th for height and 40th for weight. I hate how skinny he is- and he will only take little portions.
Oh well- I heard it is normal!!

That's exactly how it is here and DD is 20 months. I feel bad, like she should be so hungry but she is totally fine without eating. Of course she'd never refuse a dorito or cookie

Going through the same with DS. He will not eat any veggies. Says ewww to them and spits them out. I dont know where that came from because he used to eat EVERYTHING (except for potatoes). Right now he will only eat meat, pasta and rice
I try to sneak the veggies into his diet.
