Re: hawaii lovers
as far as I know there are no all-inclusives in Hawaii, but I might be wrong... we have only been to Big Island, but we loved it there... lots to see... we stayed at the Hapuna Beach and they just renovated the hotel so thats another plus... we had a great time there!

Re: hawaii lovers
When I was researching our trip to Hawaii 3 years ago, there were no all-inclusive resorts. We opted to do a cruise (flew into Oahu, stayed there for a day or 2, took an 8 day cruise that spent 2 days at each of the 4 main islands). Since the food was included on the cruise, this was as close to "all inclusive" as we could get, and we did get some meals off the cruise when we were out on the islands exploring etc.
Our personal favorite was Maui and would LOVE to go back and just stay there for a week. We found that it had the best mix of what "Hawaii" was in our minds (tropical etc) and still had the conveniences of a city. Oahu was toooo city like for us (at least Waikiki), Kauai was too tropical for us (just a bit too slow, not enough to do for us), and the Big Island was very nice, but we still preferred Maui. Everyone will have their own opinion and lots of people LOVE Kauai BECAUSE it's so laid back, untouched, etc.
Good luck, I'm sure they'll love the trip!

Re: hawaii lovers
I don't think there are any all inclusives in Hawaii. No need either... it's better to find restaurants outside of your hotel and it doesn't have to even be expensive. My FAVORITE is the Hyatt in Kaui. AMAZING!

Re: hawaii lovers
we just went this passed summer to hawaii. we went to the Big Island for 5 days, and then Kauai for 5 days. The Big Island was awesome because the landscape is soo different. one side is all rainforrest and the other is pretty flat with a lot of volcanic rock. its big though (obviously! ) so you do a lot of driving. from Waikoloa village ( where most of teh hotels are) to Volcanos National Park was about a 3 hour drive. BUT, the first couple days, we were wide awake at like 4:30 AM because of the time change, so we took advantage of that and made the drive. definitely worth goin there! we stayed at the Shores at Waikoloa- its a condo complex. They are privately owned condos that are mangaged by a resort company. So there is cleaning service daily, etc. I think it depends on what unit you get how updated it is... we stayed in # 315 and it was GREAT! nice balcony that looked out at the mountain, huge shower, super comfy bed, nice kitchen area, so you could cook some of your own meals if you wanted to. It was a one bedroom, but i think they had 2 bedroom units to rent. and i think it was about $150 a night or so- not bad for hawaii! Kauai was gorgeous, too! we stayed at Kauai Beach at Maikaiwa, a hotel. Nice hotel, good location, clean-- again, about $150 or so a night. there is a luau/dinner held there every night, and we got a certificate for by one get one free admission to that. fun stuff! we did a snorkel/sail trip to the na pali coast while we were there- definitely a must do!! the water was a little rough, so be careful if you get sea sick. incredible views though. we went through Captain Andy's- did the dinner trip-- we left at about 1:30, cruised, stopped to snorkel, then they turned the boat around and they fed us dinner on the way back. it was about $100 a person, but they really give you a lot. i'll try to think of some other stuff, too- but hopefully that will give you some ideas! good luck!

Re: hawaii lovers
I used to live on Hawaii....On Oahu (in Waikiki) and on the Island of Kauai. I visited The Big Island and stayed in Kona.
IMO...don't bother with Oahu if you're not going to be on the North Shore.
Kauai is the Garden Island and there's really not much to do. It's VERY quiet and laid back. If you want seclusion...this is the place for you and there are some very nice resorts, but don't expect to do much.
I absolutely fell in love with Kona. There's a lot to do on the Big Island and it's absolutely breathtaking.
I would either go to Maui or The Big Island.

I went to Oahu, Kauai and Maui. Out of the three I would recommend Maui.

Re: hawaii lovers
i went to hawaii for my HM, no AIs at the time. We stayed at the Hyatts in Kawai and Maui, the one in Kaui is much nicer and we liked that island the best. You can find packages that include bfast though, which is better than nothing!

I just checked their website out and it looks awesome! I saw on one of their packages that they include Round trip ground transportation to and from Kona International Airport, can you fly directly into this airport? what did you guys do for flying?

Re: hawaii lovers
OOhhhh, DH & I absolutely LOVE Hyatt Kauai. Wasn't all inclusive. We stayed there for the first half of our honeymoon & we still talk about it!!! Seriously, we were just talking about it 3 days ago. The people there were beyond nice. They went out of their way to make us feel special. We went to the Hyatt Maui for the 2nd half of our HM, but while there was more to do in Maui, we just didn't feel it was the same atmosphere. Gorgeous hotel, but we like the feel of Kauai so much more!!! I have a bunch of pics. Now I'm jealous. Hey, you wanna plan on sending me & my DH back to Hawaii? C'mon- we've got our 3 yr anniversary coming up.
Anyway good luck! They're gonna have a great time, no matter what!
