Hawaii Inter Island

Thinking of taking a cruise that sees all the islands but it has mixed reviews.

I want to go to Maui, Kauai and fly into Oahu (bc direct flights). How does that work? I have to pack again, take a cab, go back through security, get back on plane?

Is this a royal pain? Or not that bad? Just trying to think logistically how this works since trying to do it all in 10 days.

3 islands in 10 days is rushed. I wouldn't do more than 2. If you really want to do 3 islands, I think you will need 12 days minimum.

On Maui & Kauai you will need to rent a car. So you'd check out of your hotel, drive to the airport, drop the car off, go through security, etc. The inter-island flights are short (20-45 minutes), but the whole flying process does eat up some time.

It's not bad though. We do it a lot.

I don't think I would cruise the Hawaiian islands. Yes, it's an easy way to get a taste of the different islands, but you only get a small taste. There's so much to see and do on each island, that you can't experience it in a couple of hours off a cruise ship.

This. We went on our HM for 10 days and we did 2 islands (4 days Oahu, 6 days Maui). We ended up flying directly home from the Maui airport (we did have a stop in LA though).
