Having such a hard time booking a trip..
This year we decided to do a big family trip with our ILs. There will be 6 adults, one child (DS who is 2) going. I am finding it SO hard to find something that will make everyone happy. Ironically while everyone has an opinion, not everyone wants to actually plans this so it is all falling on me. If anyone could offer any advice at all I would greatly appreciate it!
Here is our criteria: Must be near or on a beach A safe place! Not a super long flight (5 hours max) Reasonably priced Kid friendly
We originally looked into a cruise but it seemed like the prices went up a lot since last year. Now we are looking into Aruba. Someone suggested renting a house and getting a rental car to drive around. This option would likely save us a lot of money but I am nervous driving around in an unknown place with my DS. I was originally totally on board but as time goes on I am getting more and more nervous..

how about a timeshare in Aruba? I wouldnt want to rent a house in an area I dont know either. And I would be nervous renting from someone. I would much rather stay in a hotel timeshare and everything is on the resort and walkable

That's a good idea! Are the timeshare resorts like hotels? I have never been to the timeshare (or even the Caribbean) so I am probably the last person who should be planning this trip.

They are usually multi-room suites with kitchens or kitchenettes.
In Aruba - the Marriott Surf or Ocean Club are great - I think you will be able to get a larger suite at the Surf Club.

What time of year? if it is summer here why not a beach town in NJ or NC. Rent a big house and have a ball.
We have done this s few time in NC and I grew up going to the Jersey Shore.

I had found one timeshare resort that had a 3 bedroom available. I am looking into that but I am always nervous about buying these types of things online. I imagine Redweek is a legit site and all postings are vetted out though?
I would really prefer a tropical location this year. We went to Lake George and even in the dead of summer the water was too cold to go swimming. Plus this will probably be the last 'real' trip we will taking for the next few years so I would like to do something big. We will be going to the NJ shore at some point this summer with my family also.

We really loved Atlantis in the Bahamas. Short direct flights and something for everyone.

How about something that's driveable like Ocean City, MD ? That way there's something for everyone and if you need to "get away" for a few hrs you have a car.

We enjoyed Aruba, other than me getting food poisioning on Mother's Day. But that could happen anywhere really.
We stayed at the Surf Club and had a HUGE suite. Full bedroom, bathroom, huge living/dining area with sofa bed, full kitchen. It was great because we ate lunch in the room most days (and dinner for everyone else when I was sick).
The Surf Club was kid-friendly and everyone loved the lazy river.
