Have your hydrangeas changed color?

I don't know, but think the extreme heat helped!! Before and after pics. I see a few blue blooms, so maybe it was the heat. I plan to cut these, and bring inside. They last "forever" just by putting them into an empty vase!!!! Going to make an arrangement for my Mom, who's in a nursing home. Mary

mine change color all season

one bush has 4 different colors! the pH of the soil changes the color so maybe the rain does effect that?

Re: Have your hydrangeas changed color?

Some of mine changed this year to be more purple from the bright blue they were the previous two years.

I find as they start to "die" (the flower parts) they get more purple as well on mine.

Exactly. More blue, acidic. More pink, basic.
Recharge the soil with lime pellets to increase acidity if you want them to bloom blue next year.
