Have you seen the Twilight movies?

Because I think my 19 month old has imprinted on her lovey. She is freaking obsessed with this thing. She's always been really into it but mostly for sleeping and when she was tired/upset. Now it comes with us everywhere despite me trying. to hide it or distract her.

Also her paci which she used to just take when she was sleeping she is now obsessed with as well. Do I let her be or try to ween them away?

Imprint! haha!

My DS got that way with his paci around 2. It was at that point that I knew it was time to go so I cut the nipples off and he would carry around the plastic part. Totally stupid but we were pretty stupid too - we were too weak to make him go cold turkey. LOL

Re: Have you seen the Twilight movies?

DD loves her dolls! When we go out she has to bring one with her. DH would try to hide them but I was like why? So we always have one with us when we go out.

I read not only is it normal but it's a sign of maturity, so it's expected behavior. I read that at babycenter I believe.

regardless, its not a battle I'm willing to fight. She loves her doll and I can't see a reason to break it.

Have you seen the Twilight movies?

Why do you want to take her lovey away? Whats sk wrong with being attached to a lovey?

My dd is attached to her doll and i let her take it everywhere. And bought a 2nd one as back up and to change out so i can wash them.

My DS has a blanket that he is attached to. He needs it to sleep! Bad thing is once he has it he sucks his thumb, like Linus from peanuts.

I still have the teddy bear I slept with as a baby. I see nothing wrong with a baby/toddler/kid having a lovey or transitional object. It's totally normal and gives them comfort!

Re: Have you seen the Twilight movies?

I'd get rid of the paci. Sooner the better in my book.

My DD has a lovey that she's obsessed with and I would never take him away.

I don't want to take it away! I just wanted to keep it in the house. But she wants it while she's eating, at the doctor (which I let) at the supermarket, at target, in the car...oh and I have three of them! One is at daycare and two are home as a backup.

When I drop her off at daycare she cries when we leave it in the car, but she has one for the daycare already. Also she tries to feed it and then it has to be washed again and again.

My issue is more the paci. She's 19mos and NOW getting into and when she's with others I want her to talk or try to talk and not be so fixated on it.

I guess I'll let her bring her lovey everywhere if it means she's maturing lol.
