Have you ever been a drunk driver?

I am shocked that this still goes on. When I waitress, I am always surprised at how many parents have a margarita, then get in the car and drive home. Most of the time, it is one margarita, but still, they are big and your kids are in the car. Why chance it?

DH is crazy, he will ride with a person who has been drinking since it is not his DUI, but I won't get in the car at all.

I drove about five blocks on Saturday with a few glasses of wine in me. I couldn't leave my car where it was or it would have been towed. I was OK to drive but would have gotten a DWI if pulled over.

I have done it in the past but now no way. I dont really drink anymore.

drunk...i don't know about drunk...
but there have been a few times that i know i SHOULDN"T have been driving!

AND i think if people were honest ..this is common!

Dont get me started on this Topic. I have a friend who was killed by a drunk driver. Anyone who kills someone will drinking and driving she get life in prison. But instead they walk free/

Two drinks are the most that I've ever had before getting behind the wheel, so I'll answer no.

I can honestly say that I have never done this.
Back in college I was CONSTANTLY the designated driver and I prefered it that way. I guess it's because I didn't trust anyone.

It annoyed the CRAP out of me that I knew girls who were pulled over drunk 3 times!! It was ridiculous!!

I will fully admit that when I used to go out with the girls in my younger years... and have just one or two drinks.. I would still drive home. I probably should NOT have gotten behind the wheel, of course Of course I never THOUGHT I was even remotely DRUNK when doing so, and there were actually many times that I DID know I was too drunk and would call a cab, etc

That said - even a few drinks impaired my judgement , of that I'm sure. I wised up really quickly and subequently have always designated a driver when going out bar hopping/drinking/etc

I am so paranoid even with One Drink. I am deterred to drink and drive because I think of the worst case scenarios.

So all of you never went out to a wedding or dinner...drank a glass of wine?

I can handle my Liqour. I drink one drink and feel fine. But i have never been a drunk driver EVER. There have been times me as an adult asking my mother to drop and pick me up from a bar. The question is drunk driver not one glass and driving.


P.S. Mike is on high blood pressure meds so he is always designated.

I dont drink but i wont let Dh drive until he is ok to drive. I actually stopped a friend from driving drunk i took her keys away i said to her you are not driving i will drive you home and i did.

I have driven after having one drink, but that's it. I don't consider one drink being "drunk", but obviously I don't know what my blood alcohol content was.

I am strictly against drunk driving.

I do have 1 story, though. I was with my best friend and we had some drinks and I drove home. I never drink. So, I think the alcohol affected me, but I don't know if I was legally drunk. I think I was more tired than anything else. I just remember being extremely cautious about my speed and not crossing any lines. By the time I got home, I felt like I couldn't walk up the stairs and I was FURIOUS with my friend for letting me drive home. I called her the next day and bitched her out. She said she just thought if I couldn't drive, I would have told her. Well, at the time that I was leaving, I felt fine. It was AS I was driving home that I started having a harder and harder time concentrating. I know that I did not speed, I did not at any time cross any lines or do anything illegal, but I really did have a hard time getting home.

I don't want to get flamed. I was just being honest. I am very much against driving while intoxicated and if anything, this taught me that I can't trust ANYONE except for myself...
