i usually just cut up some onions, saute it in butter and add the shredded potatoes. And salt and pepper.

I do this, but also add a bit of garlic and paprika and top it off with hot sauce.

i grate potaotes on the regualr cheese grater. add melted butter to help them stick and just make kind of like a potato pancake type looking thing.. you can add whatever you want to it
