has this happened to anyone before?
Holy crow! What doctor are you seeing?! He seems very drastic. I would see what your beta is ms just watch for any signs of ectopic pregnancy just to ensure your health and safety!!! Well wishes to you :)

he's a good doctor, and i feel like he's just being like this so that I don't get too hopeful or optimistic. if the levels do indeed go up, then I am sure we will be doing another ultrasound to be sure it really is ectopic- I'm not going to take something to end this until I am 100% sure I need to
i think he is just jumping the gun a bit because he is just assuming that is the situation. I'm sure he is probably right, too, but there's still that small chance he's wrong

DO NOT jump the gun and do that! My friend was told the same thing, her pregnancy wasn't viable, that she was miscarrying. She was given the pill or whatever it was, to terminate it. She was too distraught that day to accept it. And guess what? It ended up being a viable pregnancy and she is now 16 weeks pregnant!

do you know if her levels were very low in the beginning? Because at 6.5 weeks, I should really be much higher than I am. I also bled for like 9 days in the beginning, when my period was due, so I find it very unlikely that my situation will be the same as hers :(

nothing was on the sono at all, not in the tubes or my uterus... Got more bloodwork today to see what the deal is. My doctor said if my levels show higher than 1000, then there is something wrong because something should have shown up on the sono at that point. He is thinking it's possibly ectopic, but either way it is an abnormal pregnancy. He took a bunch of different blood samples today to see what is going on..
Sorry you're still going through this
Ectopic may not show up on a sonogram yet which is why they usually get picked up and diagnosed at 7/8 weeks. If there wasn't a gestational sac(in the uterus) or anything be on the look out for signs of ectopic(sharp pains or cramping on one side) , fever, etc.

Re: has this happened to anyone before?
Did your levels ever drop at some point?
I don't think your dr is beif drastic. You can rupture your tube at any point even if yor numbers do start to drop or are low like 100. Please follow his instruction!
Editted to add I almost ruptured at 6 weeks, was bleeding and my levels hit 2000. But something was see on the sono in my tube and I went to surgery that day. Then I had wonky numbers a few months later and he did not mess around and I got the shot and my levels were only 100 or 200 but erratic. I only had one tube though and he was being very cautious.

levels never went down, but they rose funny. was 12, then 36 two days later, then 39 a week later (this is when i thought the m.c. was going to happen), then 205 five days later. Got levels done yesterday, which would be six days since the last hcg, so we will have to see what it shows

Yeah, I feel like nothing would show up at this point since my levels were only 205 6 days before that. Even if they rose appropriately, i'd be around 1500 but I feel like that is still kind of low to really see anything.. I will hear back from the dr today about what my levels were yesterday and take it from there. If they did rise, I will want to get another sono so that we could maybe see something this time

Oh man I do not know her levels in the beginning but I do know her excessive bleeding was being caused by a hematoma (that is thankfully shrinking!). Coupled with the fact that the sac was empty, they were quick to rule miscarriage. When she went back for another sonogram two days later, the baby was present.

levels rose to 900, but should have been 1600 by that point if they rose the way they were supposed to. he said it was definitely ectopic, if not just a very abnormal pregnancy and gave me methotrexate to stop the process from dragging out
