Has anyone's insurance covered all or part of your breast pump?
I'm just curious if anyone's insurance has covered all or part of the purchase of a breast pump? If so, what insurance do you have and what was the stipulations? I have Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow regardless but I was just a bit impatient to hear an answer from them so I figured I'd ask you guys! TIA

I have BCBS as well, and they covered 80% of my BP. Of course there are about 10000 different plans and such under BCBS so you'll have to check but it was good for me!

I have empire BCBS PPO and its covered 100%. I can't order it until after the baby is born though and it's through Edgepark.

Interesting! I also have Aetna and didn't think they covered. Did you just call the 1800 number? When in your pregnancy did you call?

I have Anthem BCBS and and i find out tomorrow if my BP is covered, i called Thursday morning. They called friday afternoon to tell me they were still waiting on my insurance. Fingers crossed!!

I have an Empire BCBS PPO - they covered 100% of my pump, the Medela Freestyle, and I ordered from Edgepark.

I also have Empire BCBS and my Medela PISA was 100% covered through Edgepark. The pump arrived 3 weeks ago and baby is due next week.
Just an FYI: whether your insurance pays for your pump or not is related to the deal your employer has with the insurance company, and not on the insurance company itself. So that doesn't mean everyone with BCBS gets their pump covered at 100%.

I have Oxford and my plan will only cover a pump if the babies go to NICU.. so in this case i hope I dont need it

I have Empire BCBS and the plan that I have covers 100%. I don't know of the stipulations of it, except that the doctor has to OK it, but my friend from work is due in June and is in the process of picking out her pump and stuff now.

I have Empire BCBS with United and they said they wouldn't cover it after I'd already contacted Edgepark and placed an order waiting for authorization. The girl at Edgepark thought United did cover it but through a different supplier than them 
But I tried early on in the 1st trimester and I was planning to call again since the person I spoke to too at Empire BCBS United didn't sound like she knew what she was talking about.
