Has anyone's DC have a head sonogram - Infant
DS just had his 5 month visit. Ped. wants him to have a sonogram of his head. He's always had a big head, but ped. said his head grew too much since the last visit and he wants to get in there before the fontanels close. He mentioned a possible fluid on the brain. DS is also actually receiving PT because his large head and his terrible acid reflux have contributed to really poor neck and head control.
Anyone BTDT.... I am afraid to google! Ped. said everything is probably fine, but of course, I worry. He also fell off the bed last month, he literally moved in one second when I turned my back to pick up his twin and now I feel sick....what if something happened then?

My Ped made us do this too! Everything was fine, my ped just didn't understand that my son inherited the big irish head that we all got from my Grandfather. It's scary when they tell you they want this done, but he'll be fine!

My son started having CT scans of his head at 4mo. Is the head misshaped or bulging or is it just large? U can PM me if u prefer.

My DD's head was measuring big and she had to have a sonogram done for the same reason. Everything was perfectly fine. Some babies/kids/adults just have bigger heads then others. She's 6 now and has no issues at all. I wouldn't stress, more often than not it's nothing.

My ds wore a size 4t hat at 18 months. His head was even huge in utero that the doctor suggested a c section.

Right now, it's just big. It is not mishaped or flat. 2 of my other kids had big heads as babies and it was never an issue. His twin has a much smaller head in comparison.

We did. And we had to see a neurologist because his head grew too fast. Everything was fine.
