Has anyone started cereal before 4 months???
DS has cereal in his bottle, but I was just wondering if anyone started feeding their DC off a spoon sooner than 4 months? Of course, we are not ready yet because he is only 2 months but by 3 1/2 months I want to try.

yes...both my kids - ped OK cereal at 3 months
but he OKed it, b/c they were both big (22in and 10+ lbs at birth) so we were trying to slow their eating/drinking

yes we tried at 3.5 mths. it took some practice but she got the hang of it.

i am pretty sure i did. she was near 4 months-maybe a week or two shy. i just mixed a tiny bit w/ breast milk and had no problem. i know its not a popular thing to start too early but geez i think my mom had me on cereal at 2 months!

yes i started at 2 months in the bottle with the formula....he was sleeping through the night and then all of a sudden he would wake up a few times during the night. i knew he must have been hungry and it worked like a charm!!!

talk to your ped... WHO and the american academy of pediatrics both strongly recommend a baby gets only BM/formula for the first 6 months of life.
It used to be customary to start food earlier, but they now believe this may lead towards an increased risk of diabetes and obesity later in life....

yes, DS started cereal at 3 months. He's now an AMAZING eater, and I swear its because we started him early. He gets excited when he's in his highchair. Even yums at his peas lol
