Has anyone seen this house in W. Babylon?
Has anyone gone to look at this home in West Babylon?
I've been drooling over for almost a year now (even though FH and I are in no position to buy a house right now). To me, it seems perfect, but it's been on the market for so long.
I'm really just curious if anyone has looked into this house at all...

RIGHT?!!? It's practically perfect!!! Is it maybe overpriced??? I pass it on the train in the morning and I drool every day.... I wish we were in a place to buy a house!!

Are you positive it's still on the market?
Realtors will often leave homes up on MLS for 6 months to a year or longer after the home has sold. If the price hasn't changed recently, it's likely already sold.

wow what a gorgeous house, i see only 2 downsides its very close to the RR tracks and its right near a school
Its good to be close to a school but being to close is not a good thing, FH's grandparents backyard backs to the school , and they always have between 30-40 kids roaming the streets and sometimes they camp out right on his front lawn. Its unlike anything ive ever seen before

i just checked and its still on the realtors MLS...so its definitely not sold. FYI: it started at $439k in sept 06. its probably been on the market so long cause it was overpriced originally.

It is an adorable house at a great price but just the location would turn me off. I used to live on railroad tracks before and I don't miss it. If you don't mind the noise, then go for it!

I don't know what side of the street it's on, but the backyard may back onto the church parking lot. They have a three or four day festival/carnival every summer with rides, games, food. And it is close to the LIRR - being the train is elevated there, I'd think everyone could see the house, yard, etc. Looks like a nice house though if those things don't bother you. It's a nice neighborhood and close to a lot of shopping.

we went to see it two weeks ago - it was soooo disappointing - it was decorated to sell - they did not even paint the entire wall past the stairs
there are four bedrooms that all connected! and only two have closets -
it looks like a nice piece of property in the pictures, but they recently put up a fence and the owners plan on building their new home on the lot next door
the stairs to the basement are so small, i have no idea how you get furniture down it
the switches on the wall are the very old push in kind - i had never seen them before, but dh knew them
it was my obsession for the last couple of weeks and the only reason we went to a couple of open houses that day, i wonder what it will eventually go for
the house is very close to the train

I love it. I wish I would have seen that house before. 399k not bad at all for the area.
but now we know the problems and why it has not sold. However, now that the priced has been reduced am sure someone will buy it.

that stinks that the bedrooms are laid out like that!
Pics can be so deceiving sometimes.
My townhouse was very close to the train tracks(not the station just a crossing) in Oakdale & it never bothered me. In fact I got used to it & when we moved here it was odd to never hear that little rumble.

DH's cousin lives in Babylon Village and has the same set-up with their bedrooms. It's such a shame.
With it having 4 bedrooms though, maybe it would be possible to make one of them a huge walk-in closet. For that price, it might be worth it. Our house was built in 1910 and had no closets. They have been added here and there over the years, but you never find an older home with a lot of storage.
I love a home with old features and think the push switches would just add to the character.

We live 6 houses in from elevated train tracks...........and it never bothers me
And my DH grew up in this house and he says the same.
I haven't seen that house, but it is nice!!! ANd the garage is GREAT!! 3 Cars!!!

It's on the high school side of 109.
The church isn't that close at all really. And with the elevated train, you can't really see much of the house because there are some trees blocking your full view (I strain to see it everyday on my way home...)
We're in no position to buy a house right now, so really, I was just curious if anyone had seen it.
