Re: Has Anyone Flown Frontier out of ISP Yet?
never flew them out of ISP but did fly them once out of Charlotte - never again!! It was the MOST uncomfortable unpleasant experience. You are charged for EVERYTHING - want a seat that reclines? it's extra. Want a full tray table? it's extra. Want to carry on a bag bigger than your purse? it's extra. Want a drink of water on the plane? it's extra. Want to pick your seat? it's extra.
I would never fly them again even with 90% off.

Yes, I know that they nickel and dime you just like spirit. Just wondering if anyone has flown them to Orlando out of Islip yet. Seems like a straight shot and they only offer two flights a day. So I'm wondering how bad they can mess it up LOL

Re: Has Anyone Flown Frontier out of ISP Yet?
My BFF used to fly them all the time because they were cheap and she was in a long distance relationship.
The major problem is that they cancel flights A LOT - and because most of the time they only have one flight a day TO someplace and one flight a day BACK - she was stranded more times than she can remember. Like Southwest, they don't have an agreement with other airlines to put you on one of their flights - unlike Southwest they don't have a large number of flights.

I don't think I'd risk it. I'd just do Southwest. They seem like a shittty cheap ass airline I'll just pay more for SW

My dad is flying them up from Tampa on Friday. His entire RT with checked bag was $87. I will let you know how the actual flight was.

I had no idea they fly to other destinations from here, I was thinking it was MCO only.
I priced out for 3 people with bags and seats recently to go around Veteran's day, it was only like $275 TOTAL for 3 people!

So I tried to look up pricing for a ticket to MCO and the only way to get past the first page is to pay a 49.99 club membership fee? What the heck?!?!?!?

That's weird, I have no problem getting into their page. But, I usually use a computer. Are you on a phone? Maybe that's the pop up you need to remove

I'm on my computer. Maybe it's the dates that I'm looking for - 6/28/18 - 7/8/2018 - far out. I haven't looked at dates closer in.

I don't think their schedule is out for then. It went up to April when I looked last

Has Anyone Flown Frontier out of ISP Yet?
My husband flew frontier last weekend from Islip to Orlando. He said it was fine. Very no frills, but fine. The only thing he found annoying was the really early flight back home. He said he had the whole row to himself on the way down.

im flying back from NOLA next weekend -- only direct flight to islip. They only had flights every other day so im going out of JFK on delta (first class haha it will be way different coming back!) flight was like $120 including the frills package noticed it went down at least $40 last week its DW birthday and im already missing half of the day so if they cancel i will kill someone and/or pay the big $$$ for someone else. (work trip)

Re: Has Anyone Flown Frontier out of ISP Yet?
I haven't and based on my research never will. Not a fan of the cheap low cost airlines such as Frontier and Spirit that nickel and dime everything. Especially if I'm traveling with my children. For the past couple of years we've been cruising for our vacations and I wouldn't gamble booking with Frontier risking high cancellations. We are flying to Orlando in the spring for our cruise and we just booked on Delta out of LGA which based on flight stats that flight rarely has cancellations or delays being it's the first flight out.

If you are flying the morning of your cruise, I would change that to the day before!
We fly Delta A LOT since we have a ton of miles with them due to work travel. They are notorious for delays due to crew that can't work due to being over their hours, and then we have to sit and wait for a new crew. This happens SO much with them!! It's very frustrating!!
Side note, the last time we traveled with them on the way home from Cali over the Summer, they switched my son's seat (who has special needs), and separated him from us due to an aircraft change (but yet there were still 3 seats in the middle...just like what I booked initially!). So when we called they said nothing they can do! They would need permission from the person who now has his seat to change. I was like say what?! You didn't ask MY SON to change HIS seat!!! So they said fix it at the gate. Gate agent had to page person, person never responded. Total JOKE!!!! I was LIVID!! Fortunately when we got on board, the woman who was in the seat agreed to switch. But I was floored that they were SO unaccommodating!

Delta is truly one of my least favorite airlines.

Unfortunately we have to fly Morning of our cruise since my older son is returning from his class trip to Boston the night before. We've flown Morning of cruises before and haven't had issues (fingers crossed) as of yet. We always take the first flight out which rarely has any delays. Before committing to Delta or any carrier I monitor their performance and Flight Status of previous flights. We flew to FTL this past spring on Jet Blue and I was nervous because they had great On time history for our 6 am flight but weeks before our cruise has delays and cancellations. I went into panic mode. On our flight a passenger became ill maybe a half hour into flight so my thoughts were "crap they are going to divert it". I'm a RN so I assisted the flight crew in helping her(she took medication on an empty stomach and was dizzy). We ended up landing in FTL on time. All I can do is keep my fingers crossed.

We are flying them back from Orlando. The online reviews are crappy but in my local FB mom's group there were all positive reviews. It's no frills which to me is nbd. I paid for the club pass which saved me $$. I was able to get 3 return tickets, chose our seats, pay the club fee and a checked bag fee for 208. For the price I can bring snacks for the kids and grab a drink before we board.

Re: Has Anyone Flown Frontier out of ISP Yet?
I just flew them this week roundtrip from Islip to West Palm. We were delayed two hours going and we were told a bird strike. They gave us all a certificate for that. Then coming back, delayed half hour and told bird strike. Don't know what that is about. I think if you want to fly with them, you have to be prepared there may be delays. I got a little aggravated at first, but you can't beat the price. For the prices, I will deal with it. I flew roundtrip for $85 including my fee for checking in my luggage. So that is a total price. The flights were all full each way I flew. Southwest's prices are so high lately and last few flights I flew with them, the flights were half empty, yet they were still charging a ridiculous amount for last minute people to book. These prices will enable me to take more quick trips to see my family.

Do you have to purchase the club for everyone traveling, or just once, and then you can get as many tickets as you want?
The bird strike thing is weird!!! Especially since it delayed you both ways!

I know. It is weird about bird strike thing. I did see them checking the plane in Islip before takeoff and spoke to someone from I believe fire department about it with others while waiting, but still don't know if it became an excuse by the time I flew home because in the end, coming home they said the first flight of the day that plane was used for was delayed which set all the flights behind that plane was used for. I still will fly again for the price.

You purchase one club pass and it’s good for up to 6 people for a year. Whoever has the pass has to be flying though.
