Has anyone ever hired a personal organizer?

I am considering it.

I am so done with clutter. I feel like I have no control over my work life, and no control over my home.

Just wondering if anyone here used one, and if you felt it was worth the investment.

I had someone come to my apt before we even put it on the market and give me a free estimate because I felt like I had so much stuff not organized. She came and thought I was crazy because everything *was* organized. Yes, I am that anal.

I personally still think someone could have come in and said, ok-- it's better to put this stuff here, and that there-- this you don't need, etc.

SOOO, IMO-- spend some time cleaning out your stuff, thinking smart about how to store it, etc. Only you can go through your stuff and figure out what you need and what you don't.. so they can't do that for you anyway.

I think most of these people come and give you a free assessment if you want to see what they would do. This girl was like a young girl trying to start her own business, so not a seasoned professional. I know we all want the professionals from an HGTV show to come and make our homes better-- I don't think you get it with these people though.

I think I need to find one of these also. I HATE clutter and feel like I can never get rid of it.

I did. we worked together for about 6 hours straight and got a lot done. It was worth it, but you have to keep it up on your own or hire one on a monthly/bi-monthly basis.
