My company has hired this guy to come to our building and figure out a way we can maximize our office space because we are just busting at the seams with employees.

So after a week of measuring, drawing in his little notepad and taking pictures he brings in the "decorator"

So I am left alone in our accounting office (their are 4 of us) and the decorator and the measurer come in and he goes over some of his ideas with her.

Right away she starts with the things that are wrong in the office (stuff we already know that is wrong that is why you were hired to fix it) So here is how our little conversation went:

decorator: do all of these file cabinets have to be with you

me: yes

decorator: why

me: because they contain confidential information that we use on a daily basis. Such things like tax information and contracts with vendors

decorator: well can you consolidate or go paperless

me: No. we have to have hard copies of everything. i work on bank statements and accounts and I have to print out everything. He works on state taxes and only 10% can be done on line the rest are all manual and she works on paying our invoices all which are received in the mail and all manual. So no we cant go paperless. And we need to have at least 2 years worth of documentation in house

Decorator: is that safe a functioning safe

Me; no it's just there for decoration Chat Icon
