has anyone been to court for parking tickets in Hempstead?-update

I'm going tonight to fight some tickets that I got parking at the train station.

Some of the fines had an $85 penalty and some had a $10 penalty for the same parking ticket. It's ludicrous..also one ticket I got I was parked legally.

The train parking is horrendous in Bethpage.

Any words of advice?

I've been there and it seems like everyone that had a moving violation they immediately pled down to something smaller with less points.

Don't know what they will do with a basic parking ticket. How do you know other people got a $10 ticket when you got an $85 ticket?

I have many tickets for parking at the station. There is just not enough legal spots and a ton of 2 hour parking.

Parking there is a joke.

I have tickets that have a $10 penalty and tickets that have an $85 penalty. The ones with the $10 penalty are older than the ones with the $85 penalty for the same stinking parking ticket. Doesn't make sense.

I'm going with all of my tickets listed.

they will probably make you plead it down, like 1 price for all. it really depends who you get as a judge. ets good luck!

I have a lot of tickets and it will probably continue with the train station.

they are serious effed up in that place. nassau county is so corrupt.

I got one ticket set aside and I could have more but I was trying to be reasonable since I had a ton of tickets.

They knocked them all down with no penalties so I paid a much reduced amount vs what I could have paid if I never went down there.

I got there at 6:30. I wasn't the last person to walk in but I was the last person to be called. They made several math errors in calculating what I owed and the cashier and I went back and forth to the clerk who enters the amounts in the system. One of the court officers was sitting around in the room with the judge and a PO and some other folks chewing the fat and I came in for the second time to make sure the math was right and to make sure that all of the tickets were taken care of (cause I ain't ever going back there) and he said "why do these people come in with all these tickets and keep us here? We should close the doors at 7 and not let anyone else in." I thought that was pretty messed up.

So, I said something.

"Sir, I was here at 6:30 and the last to be called. There were a series of mathematical errors that I was willing to overlook, even pay a little more to be done with this so I could go home too. I just worked a 10 hour day and had a 2.5 hour commute. I'm not so willing to make it easy now."

The judge already heard my tickets so I was clear and even if I wasn't I didn't care.

Now to do battle with the TOB and a certain PO who has it out for me..

I remember how bad the parking at Bethpage train is. What I used to do is park either right on Broadway (heading south) before the Chase bank and strip mall or park in the lot across from the library on Powell Ave. This was a few years ago - but maybe you could try that?

I know parking suckss in all lots. I've had to resort to an earlier train to avoid not finding parking in the lot I need.

the library is now time limited parking. have to drive around and check out other areas. If I make a 7:10 train I'm usually ok, but any later I'm screwed.

DH and I now commute so it's two cars. We have different schedules so it's not so easy to take one car sometimes but we try.

Sadly, I've noticed lately that there are more spots available.
