Hanukkah crafts
I need some suggestion for Hanukkah crafts. I have been going in to school for the past few years and I'm out of ideas. I've done glitter Star of David, macaroni menorahs, made foam dreidels, and picture frames. I am totally out of ideas. This would be for 2nd graders.

blue collages in the shape of the star of david?
does it have to be so strictly 'hanukkah'? Charity is a big part of Judaism and my family used to put money in a container on every jewish holiday (including all 8 nights of hanukkah) to give to charity. It is called tzedakah and when I was teaching I would do a lesson on giving back and we would make different kinds of charity containers/piggy banks to collect coins. You could use any sort of can or canister (but it is best if it has a lid), collage it or paint it with hanukkah colors and images (blue, white, silver, jewish stars, dreidels) and then slit a hole in the top for the coin to go in- or just leave it open if there is no top.
I also wanted to mention the craft from the PP... while it is VERY cute, the main candle that you light the other 8 with is supposed to be higher than the other candles and with that craft it is lower or at the same level as other candles, which technically makes it 'wrong'. I don't know how else to explain it, sorry.

This is to do at my DS school. He's the only Jewish child so I don't think I coud really hit the class up for donations.  It needs to be a fairly easy craft, I usually get about 20-30 minutes to do a craft and read them a Hanukkah book.
