so excited! for hanukkah my bf got us..

omg I have no idea. that was on my mind all nite, I hafta buy an outfit, cause he is taking me to a fancy dinner prior to the opera... I am hoping to find an outfit for this and NYE as well... Maybe a little black dress? LOL if only it wasnt 5 degrees outside!! LOL

My husband and I love the Opera but since moving to the Island we haven't gone. i love Tosca, that is one of my favorites..
Just to let you know, If you are going to the either the Met or the New York City Opera at Lincoln Center, you can dress however you would like. I have seen people go to the Met on a Saturday night and wear jeans... I would never do that though... I see going to an opera as a very nice night out...
Oh and don't worry there are teleprompters in front of your seats that have the opera translated into English.. If you go to the New York City Opera it is on top of the stage so bring your glasses...

A few years ago I went to see The Magic Flute at the Metropolitan Opera House it was awesome!! Hope you have fun!

I also love the opera! It is so wonderful.
Most people do dress nice, like you are going to a nice restaurant. But there are always a few people in jeans and a few people in ball gowns. Just be comfortable, because as wonderful as operas are, they are long!

If it's City Opera, it's a little trendier/funkier and laid back than the Met.
But it's fun to dress up either way! Have a great time!

this is a good idea!
I dont know which one is by you, but the one over by me is going out of business - not sure if they all are . SO last week everything was 50% off .. I got one pair of work pants, 3 tops and a few other things for like $80 bucks
ETA: OK so NOW I feel like spending $$ so I think I am going back after work to see if they further reduced anything
