Halloween help--crafty ladies needed!!
I know it's last minute, but I'm going as the Chiquita Banana lady.
First pic is from 1940s, second is today.
How would you make her hat?

A lamp shade would work ! Just use blue cloth to cover it ! I think that will be a cool costume

Thanks! If I find that I can't do a good enough job in time for this halloween (I only have tonight since I'm traveling on Friday) I'm going to save it for next year. I already know the whole song

You could get a big plastic bowl too...cut out bottom to fit your head..add the fake fruit in there so its not so heavy on your head.

Just an update! I got my costume and I think it looks pretty awesome. I got a shallow green basket from Joann Fabrics for 50% off, and I glued in some fake fruit. I tied a ribbon to both handles and will tie it under my chin. And I got the cheesiest clothes!
Will post pictures of the costume when I'll all done up. Thanks for your help girls!

Thanks! I was so ehhhhhh about Halloween this year since we can't stay out late. We have to drive at 6am to Boston for a surprise birthday brunch party on Sunday.
But now that I have a great costume, I'm soooo excited!
