Had the Essure procedure done today...
so far so good. It was uncomfortable but nothing unbearable. I've got some cramping/discomfort but they gave me Vicodin to take.
So far I'd recommend it. It was in office and relatively quick. I go in 3 months for the HSG to make sure my tubes are blocked.

One of my friends had it done a few months ago. I'm considering it.

I was given info about it as well. I'm thinking about it.

Re: Had the Essure procedure done today...
Honestly the worst part was the shot of toradol in each arm (helps to keep your tubes from spasming when they insert the camera and coils) and dilating my cervix. But again nothing that was scream worthy.
It was cool too. I got to watch it on the screen (I asked too). The actual insertion was super quick and didn't feel.
The hard part is that it takes 3 months to take and its super important to use protection (not just pull and pray) b/c any pregnancy would most likely be ectopic, bad news. Other than that I really don't see any down falls. We'll but using condoms and probably avoiding during fertile times to be extra safe.

I'm thinking of doing it too. I went for the IUD and because of my internal structure they're not sure if they can get the IUD in the right place without it being super painful. I'm pretty sure we're done having kids so I'm thinking about getting this done.

Good to know. I was curious to see how it was. It has to be better than a tubal ligation- no surgery, no going under, no stitches etc.
Keep us posted!

I wanted it done but the doc didn't want to do it since she felt I was young and would want more kids. I went with Mirena and in 5 years I will 35 and will have the procedure then.

I would probably have a hard time doing it at 30. I'm 36 and DH is 42. We tried for a 3rd for 6 months and IUI and it didn't happen and we felt we were definitely done. She definitely kind of quizzed me and said "You're pretty reassuring that you're done having kids".
I'm sore today. But I also have no pain meds in me. Not even Ibuprofen. But I can walk around and do stuff so I would say I am 85% well. Not bad for less than 24 hours later.
