Had my first ultrasound today at 5w4d
I knew we wouldn't see the heartbeat yet. We saw 2 sacs. Of course, she cautioned us it is still super early and they both may not develop, but she said two implanted. Then she looked and said oh they both have a yolk sac and fetal pole(?) so she said there is a good chance they will develop into twins.
I am super excited just to be pregnant, but I would be thrilled if it's twins. I'm not gonna lie, if they both don't develop, I will be disappointed even though the RE prepared us.
They took more blood and I have to call tomorrow for the results, but she said at this point, everything looks like it should. I go back in a week. I'll be 6w4d and she said we should have a hb. So for today I am pregnant and happy .

A "fetal pole" is what they call the fetus when it's too small to see more than a dot.
Great update - congratulations and lots of sticky dust to you for both!

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep us posted!!!!! At 6weeks at 2day appointment - 2 sacs were seen and at 37 weeks and 2 days I delivered

CONGRATS! I think this is very positive news! A fetal pole is very important, from what I learned, lol! I think you are def going to have two hearbeats next week!!!!! WOOHOO! Stay positive girl!!!
