Had my Baby Girl!
I dropped off the boards for a bit but I wanted to come back and share that my little  was born on 2/8/13 at 10:27am.
I was scheduled for an induction due to low fluid and hypertension and was first admitted on Feb 2. That induction, unbelievably failed since my body was no where near ready to have this baby. So we went home on Sunday, Feb 3 empty handed.
Went in for a second try at an induction on Feb 7 and they inserted a foley (sp?) which should have jump started my labor but almost 24 hours later, I was only 4 cm dilated even with the help of pitocin. I wasn't able to get an epidural because i suffer from scoliosis and had the herrington rods placed in. They tried, but all it did was numb my legs and feet but not where the pain was concentrated. After they broke my water, they tried to monitor the baby but all of a sudden they lost the babies heartbeat for a good minute and couldn't find it. In what looked like something out of a TV screen, a million people rushed in and started prepping me for an emergency c section. DH was rushing to get his scrubs on and then was told he wasn't allowed in the OR because i would have to be put under general anasthesia because the epi never worked. No one would tell me if my baby was ok and then I passed out.
I woke up in recovery and DH showed me my little girl but I was so out of it I couldn't really understand where I was.
I also came to find out that apparantly, while I was still under, but the c section complete, there was a huge explosion just as the OBGYN was coming out of the door to congratulate my DH. He ran back inside and the doors were rushed open and my DD was rushed out because of a foul, noxious fume overtaking the whole room. DH said there wer people running aound screaming fire! and the fire dept rushed in to see everything was ok. We found out later that something hapened to the anasthesia machine and something exploded which caused the smell. Quite an eventful day to say the least.
But we are all doing well now...please allow me to introduce my beautiful baby girl, Isabella Grace. Born at 10:27am at 4lbs 10 ounces and 18 inches long.
