Had my baby girl!!!
I had my baby girl on Monday! She was a little over 2 weeks early. I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy, but it turned pretty eventful on Monday. I basically woke up with bright red bleeding on Monday morning and freaked out.
Turned out I had Hellps syndrome- a strong allergic reaction to the pregnancy. My blood platelets were dropping ridiculously low so they had to give me two bags of blood platelets. Then, they put me under anestesia (sp?) for the entire thing. A little scary, but my baby is doing wonderful and she is so precious. I will discuss the syndrome with my doctor to find out more, but I haven't looked anything up about it online. I do know I will be considered high risk for my next pregnancy.
I want to thank everyone again for all of your help. This site is wonderful! I will be posting on parenting soon. My DH has had bronchitis for the past few days if you can believe that! My parents had to bring me home and my mom has been staying with me. He's so upset ...as am I. He will be home tomorrow though.
Sorry so long...hope you are all doing well! So far, I am loving being a mom. I am just so amazed by her.

When you learn more about this 'syndrome' you had - would you mind sharing it here as well as parenting? I know MANY women would like to know more about your situation and what happened...

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. From what I understand it's a condition that can come up at anytime...kind of like pre eclampsia. I think he was surprised that it sprung up so suddenly though. He said that usually there are some signs...again I am unaware. I think I am just so relieved to be home with my baby. Her name is Ella and my heart swells whenever I look at her. I am going to be seeing my doctor in a few weeks so I was going to ask him more questions then. And, my DH is finally home!!! Thanks again everyone!
