Growing Out DD's Bangs

The maintenance of trimming her bangs is way too much. They grow like weeds and I don't have the time to take her to the hair salon once a month, nor will she sit still to let me trim them myself. She'll be 3 in May and while I know headbands are a fan favorite, she won't keep them on. I've tried these Goody clips to no avail. They stay in for like 5 minutes and by the time we get to daycare in the morning, they slipped out and the bangs are in the face again. I tried to grow her bangs out a few months ago and got so frustrated that I just trimmed them, but this time I'm committed! HELP!

If you're able, french braiding them to the side works well.

Try the poly bands. You can get them at Target or Amazon. Then just pull the front of her hair up into it. It'll grow out before you know it.

When my dd was growing out her bangs I had luck with those pony tail holders that are shaped like a 8 and have a marble-sized bead on each end. I don't know exactly what they're called. But they've been aroubd since at least the 80s bc my mom used the same thing in my hair when I was little and growing my bangs out. I would just pull the bangs and a little of the surrounding hair over to one side with it and leave the rest of the hair down, or use a separate ponytail holder if I wanted to tie t he rest of her hair back. They stayed in all day.

This is what I use. She gets a poofy pony either right smack on top or on the side of her head everyday. Holds great and I stick a bow in front of it.
